OSS is proud to announce that our students have access to the Accelerated Reader Program. AR is a computer program that helps teachers and parents manage and monitor children’s independent reading practice. Your child picks a book at his/her own level and reads it at his/her own pace. When finished, your child takes a short quiz on the computer which is composed of five to ten question quizzes.

OSS will celebrate its students’ success on the Accelerated Reader. Based upon the AR points that the students will earn, they will become eligible to join the “AR Point Celebration Parties”. The top 3 students from each grade will also receive the “AR Star of the Month” and they will receive an AR Certificate. In addition to these recognitions, teachers may also give some extra credits based upon the points earned. Please find the Monthly AR Point Celebration Party Dates and information below.

Student should earn at least 30 AR Point between
Thursday, January 01st- Saturday, January 31st or
